The New Candidates

There will be many opportunities to meet the 9 candidates running for 3 open City Council seats before the November 4th election. Tonight I attended one such event to see and hear all the candidates myself for the first time. Literature and doughnuts on tables, the candidates looking sharp on stage, all mic’d up and ready to go, and a PACKED house of Mountain View residents at the Rengstorff Community Center. It’s just such a great time to be in Mountain View with so much at stake and, frankly, the civic conversation is headed in the right direction. TONS of growth, not necessarily bad or good, but planning visions of varying degrees determining the near and far future. Tonight’s topic of housing and transportation was well put together by the co-sponsors listed below. I won’t be chronicling the he-said-she-said of the night here, but thought it would be useful to list the websites of the candidates and throw in the websites of tonight’s forum sponsors in particular. Stakes are high in The MV these days, it’s an important time to pay attention to local government.
